SZA is a Zagreb based architectural studio founded in 2005 by Sonja and Igor Franic.

Our work is associated with all dimensions of urban and architectural design rather than focusing on narrow specialisms. We are currently involved in wide range of projects at different scales, ranging from urban planning, public buildings to housing projects.

Most public projects carried out are the result of the first prize in open architectural competitions, which represent the main orientation of the studios work.

The work of SZA has been extensively published and exhibited and some of the new buildings have won awards. Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb was built in 2009 as a result of the first prize in the architectural competition, and was awarded the annual prize of Viktor Kovacic for the best architectural achievement.

Each new project, regardless of the dimension, is inspired by the experience and move that today's architecture is becoming a valuable future architectural heritage, creating architecture for people trough serious process shaped to clients and users. Our project are initiated by sensitive approach to context, the experiential possibilities of construction and materials and a concern for social, environmental and economic aspect of sustainability.

SZA practice is combined with academic research and teaching.

SZA founders are continuously involved in important design decisions on all project and dedicated to cultivating a strong working relationship with clients and users in the development of all projects.
